Location
Only a 4.5 hour drive from Melbourne and a 9 hour drive from Sydney,Hotham is located at the crest of the Great Alpine Road, in North-East Victoria, which is the highest sealed road in Australia. The resort’s village is unique in that it sits on top of the mountain, providing the most spectacular alpine accommodation scenery in the country.
How To Get There
First choose your mode of transport from your state – flights to Melbourne or Hotham, Coach or Self Drive.
FLY: Hotham is the only snow resort in Australia with its own airport serviced by QantasLink and charter aircrafts. Convenient connections are available with major airlines from all other major cities. Coach transfers meet every flight and drops the guests at the top of the mountain, just 20kms from the Hotham Airport. Refer to page 7 for Fly/Coach packages.
COACH: Fly to Melbourne and catch the Snowball Express coach direct from airport to the resort. Refer to pages 6 and 7 for costs and timetables.
SELF DRIVE: The Hume Highway intersects with the Great Alpine Road near Wangaratta. Going through Bright, Harrietville and then on up to Hotham, this is one of the most spectacular drives in the country. You must however carry snow chains at all times during the declared snow season, and fit them where directed. You can hire chains at the bottom of the mountain.
A National Park Entry fee is applicable to all vehicles entering the resort during the declared snow season, which is paid, on arrival. Ask your consultant for more details. Refer to pages 6 and 7 for more information. |
Parking at Hotham
Just look for the large red signs indicating the start of the overnight guest parking and find a spot. Getting back to the village is easy with the free village shuttle that will collect you from within the overnight car parking area.
