LOCATION Jindabyne –known as Jindy is the gateway to the Snowy Mountains and is less than a 3 hour drive from Canberra, and just over a 6 hour drive from Sydney. The slopes at either Perisher Blue or Thredbo are an easy 30 minute drive away. You can drive to Thredbo via the Alpine Way, to Perisher Blue via Kosciusko Road or take the Skitube (see page 12 for details). FACILITIES There are 2 shopping centres in Jindabyne, offering supermarkets, liquor stores, chemist, newsagent, bookshop, bakeries, souvenir shops, banks, ski and clothing hire outlets, post office, video shop, cinema, cafés, restaurants, night clubs, medical centre and an indoor heated pool. The National Parks and Wildlife Service Centre located on Kosciusko Road includes the regional office of the NPWS, visitor centre, 180 seat theatre and café.
