South America
INTRODUCTION
There is a long list of places to ski in Chile. Best equipped in the Central Zone are: Portillo, La Parva, El Colorado/Farellones, Valle Nevado, and Termas de Chillán. All these ski resorts maintain their slopes (ski runs), offer ski classes and ski rental equipment. Portillo, Valle Nevado and El Colorado have artificial snow-maker machines.
Heading south we can find ski resorts like Chapa Verde, Pucón and Antillanca, mid-quality categorized, with fewer ski-lifts and services as the Central Zone Resorts. Lagunillas, Antuco, Lonquimay, Llaima, El Fraile and Cerro Mirador Resorts have fewer infrastructure and ski-lifts. Their slopes (ski runs) are for rookies, but experts can always find a great spot to practice off-the-runs skiing.
