Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What are the top resorts for families?
A: Use our Where to go Next?” section on the Home Page of our website and see where you would like to travel. Or call us today, and let one of our Snowscene Snow Specialists assist you with destination information, and a tailor-made package to suit you and your family’s needs.
Q: Do skiers and snowboarders use different lift tickets?
A: No. Skiers and snowboarders both use the same lift ticket.
Q: What does ski-in/ski-out really mean?
A: It can mean different things to different people. Some properties may publicise themselves as ski-in/ski-out, but might actually be 50 – 250 metres from the slopes. When in doubt, just ask us or look at the property description in our Brochure, or on our Web site. Our Snow Specialists have visited the properties and can tell you exactly how far an apartment or an accommodation is from the lifts, a certain restaurant, centre of the village or whatever is most important to you and your travelling companions.
Q: Is it possible to book a ski-in/ski-out property if I’m on a tight budget?
A: While this is possible in some destinations, it may not be in others. In both cases, keep in mind that ski-in/ski-out convenience will almost always cost more. Knowing exactly what your budget is and what you want to spend will help determine which type of property is right for you, whether this be 250 metres from a lift, or a short drive away.
Q: What should I do? I would like to hire Skiing or Snowboarding Equipment.
A: Whether you own your own equipment or this is your first time to the snow, hiring your equipment is a great idea. Not only are you able to avoid the airlines’ baggage fees, you’re able to use the newest equipment on the market. Your Snowscene Snow Specialist can book the appropriate equipment based on your abilities. For the utmost convenience, we can arrange for your rental equipment to be picked up from a Hire location close to your accommodation. All equipment is fitted to you and adjusted by Snow Resort Specialists.
Q: Should I book Car Hire or Coach Transfer?
A: When in doubt ask your Snowscene Snow Specialist. The answer usually depends on the proximity of the resort to the airport and the number of travellers in the party. The answer can also depend on the location of and services offered by your lodging accommodations as well as convenience of parking at your destination. Once in the destination, however, most resorts are easy to get around on foot and/or have shuttle transportation systems in place.
Q: When is the best time to book? How early can I book?
A: To make sure you get your preferred travel dates and accommodation – especially for the International Travel months of December Holidays, Christmas and New Years – book as early as possible and for Domestic bookings; from January for travel between June to September is ideal. Though some properties don’t release all prices and availability until well into summer months, your Snowscene Snow Specialist can take your early-booking requests and work to get results for you as soon as the information and rates become available.
Q: Do you offer travel insurance and what does it cover?
A: We not only offer travel insurance, we strongly recommend it. Since certain components of your packages are totally non refundable at a certain point prior to travel, having insurance may be the only way you can receive money back should a cancellation or delay be necessary due to illness or weather. For full details of coverage under our QBE Travel insurance policy, see our Travel Insurance page under the Travel tab on our website for a free quote, or contact us for a copy of the PDS today.
Q: What components can be included in my Snowscene Snow Holiday?
A: We offer a large selection of on and off mountain accommodation and additional components for your perfect Snow Escape. Through Snowscene you can book everything you need for the Perfect Snow Holiday, from discounted accommodation, flights and lift tickets to clothing and equipment hire, lessons and off-mountain activities.
